Paul Mundy & Terri Wilson

Paul Mundy

Paul grew up in the Island Town of Alameda, in the San Francisco Bay Area, spending weekends and summers at the family cabin in Twain Harte. After high school he moved to Twain Harte to attend Columbia Junior College and then transferred to Stanislaus State to complete his BA in Liberal Studies and earned a Teaching Credential.

A professional skier for twenty five years, he worked for Ski Magazine and Professional Ski Instructors of America as a National Ski Educational Trainer while running a winter sports school at a Central Sierra ski resort.

He became the Marketing and Events Manager at Greenhorn Creek Golf Resort, and later took a position as Events Manager at Ironstone Vineyards, where he helped create a month of healthcare education by bringing traditional and non-traditional health education events to the community. The highlight for Paul was meeting guest speaker Olympic Gold Medal Winner, Peggy Fleming, who is a nationally known speaker on breast cancer awareness. This event sparked a new passion for his involvement in the healthcare arena, and he eventually took a position with Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation. He feels that “Dancing with the Sierra Stars” is a great opportunity to showcase his passion to bring quality healthcare to our community.

Terri Wilson

Terri is a native Californian, originally from Burbank. She and her husband Mark moved to the Foothills with their young family in 1987. They got involved in theater in the early 90’s and co-founded Murphys Creek Theatre in 1994.  Terri’s first real dance experience was through her roles in musicals. She learned Lindy Hop for a role in 1940’s Radio Hour for Columbia Actors Repertory. She teamed up with two other gals in a play for Stage 3 called, “All Grown Up” and they later formed a 60’s Girl-Group band called “The Earth Angels” where she sang harmonies and helped choreograph many of their numbers, performing all over the Motherlode.

In more recent years, Terri and Mark took ballroom dance classes locally and learned the basics of Tango, Cha-cha, Waltz, Foxtrot, and both East and West Coast Swing. They enjoy all the styles of dancing but swing dance has always been a favorite. You may wonder why Terri and Mark are competing against one another in this event. The answer is simple. Paul Mundy asked her to be his dance partner, and she said “Sure!” Later, when the Wilson’s friend Laura Dyken mentioned she was looking for a dance partner for DWSS, Terri suggested Mark, knowing he and Laura worked well together as a winning team at the Calaveras Follies. The rest, as they say, is history! Stay tuned to see which Wilson will win this event!
