Matt Hatcher

Matt moved to Murphys just seven years ago pursuing his twenty year passion of drinking and collecting wines by opening his own winery, Hatcher. He is very hands on with his business from working in his vineyard, making the wines, and even working the tasting room with his brother, Sewell, who is also part owner of Hatcher Winery.

Matt has a nine year old son, Sewell (a sixth generation family name, also given to a Rhone Blend Matt produces as well), who lives with him half of the time. Matt has really enjoyed being involved in the community donating his time and wines to various organizations. Matt enjoys family time snowboarding at Bear Valley and rafting with OARS any chance he can get.

When asked to audition, Matt felt like it was an opportunity to learn ballroom dance (something he has wanted to do), and help another worthy cause in our community.

Jennifer Berry

Jennifer has had the wonderful opportunity of being raised in Murphys where her parents, John and June, ran the local pharmacy. She feels pretty lucky giving her daughter, Elise, twelve, that same opportunity of a small town. Jennifer spends most of her time around children. She is a very active teacher at Michelson Elementary here in Murphys where she also heads up their ski program. She currently volunteers her time coaching cheerleading for the AMA Jr. Bullfrogs. In the spring and summer she heads to the pool to teach lifeguarding and swimming. She feels such a joy seeing children learn.
In her spare time she enjoys biking, skiing, rafting, and playing slow pitch softball. She is excited about participating in “Dancing with the Sierra Stars” since taking ballroom dance has been on her bucket list, and it is a chance to help our community.
